COVID-19 Vaccine Update

Governor Cooper has announced a change in the age criteria for the current COVID-19 vaccine phase. The new criteria allows North Carolinians 65 and older to now be eligible to receive the vaccine. According to Dare County's website, those interested in receiving the vaccine should visit Register4Vaccine to make an appointment. Modified Stay at Home Order

Governor Roy Cooper presented a Modified Stay at Home Order after a rapid increase in key COVID-19 trends. The Order requires people to stay at home between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am; it takes effect Friday, December 11, and will be in place until at least January 8, 2021. Additional Face Covering Requirements

Governor Roy Cooper issued Executive Order 180 on November 23, 2020 which increases face covering requirements to prevent the rapid spread of COVID-19. This Order goes into effective November 25, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. Please click the following link for more information.

DCDHHS’ COVID-19 Update #2

Governor Roy Cooper announced North Carolina would be moving into Safer at Home Phase 2 on Friday, May 22 at 5 p.m. After two weeks in Phase 1, the state’s overall key indicators remain stable but the continued increases in daily case counts signal a need to take a more modest step forward in Phase 2 than originally envisioned.

Plan for Gradual Lifting of Restrictions on Entry to Dare County To Be Announced Tuesday, April 21
With careful consideration of the science, trends, data and resource availability, the Dare County Control Group has asked staff to prepare a plan to address the lifting of restrictions on entry to Dare County while ensuring the safety of our community. Dare County’s plan will be released on Tuesday, April 21, 2020.
